The circle is complete with 360 degree feedback and selection assessment

The RAVU (Regional Ambulance Service Utrecht) provides (emergency) ambulance care and transportation in the province of Utrecht. A total of 465 people work across the ambulance service, the emergency call center, and the office. As an evaluation tool, the RAVU utilizes 360-degree feedback for all employeesTriple Balance guides, advises, and trains managers and HR advisors to effectively implement this form of feedback

All in one

“Lovely no-nonsense. That’s us too!” The word comes from Natasja Meijer, Senior HR Advisor at the RAVU (Regional Ambulance Service Utrecht). She has closely collaborated with Triple Balance. As an organization, RAVU wanted to get more out of their annual conversations, which is why they introduced
360-degree feedback for all employees. “We were already familiar with the tool, but we wanted to move away from having different parties handle employee development and new employee selection. We found a single solution in Tripple Balance.”

Clear expectations

The initial step taken in collaboration with Triple Balance was the implementation of effective competency management. Previously, we utilized an excessive number of competencies, which unnecessarily prolonged the evaluation process and resulted in low motivation among employees to utilize this tool. To address this, Léon and Natasja meticulously reviewed the profiles. Triple Balance assisted in clarifying expectations regarding desired behavior for each role and introduced structure to the profiles. The process became more streamlined by creating generic profiles that could be applied to multiple positions. Within each profile, a three-tiered categorization was established to indicate the importance of competencies: essential, complementary, and desired. This approach enables us to set clear expectations for our employees

No-nonsense

Subsequently, Triple Balance guided the implementation of the 360-degree feedback. They created manuals for both managers and employees, along with a policy document outlining the use of the 360-degree tool. Additionally, they conducted training sessions for managers, and after that, we initiated the process.

At RAVU, we were already familiar with the tool, but thanks to Niels and Léon’s intensive guidance, practical tips & tricks, and customized advice, we now derive much more value from it. They provide support where needed, offer relevant advice, and maintain a no-nonsense approach—just like us! Their straightforward communication style is evident in our collaboration. When you pose a question, they respond with concrete answers, avoiding any beating around the bush. Their practical, results-oriented approach resonates positively with us!

Nice circle

What Natasja appreciates is the creation of beautiful loops. In addition to the 360-degree feedback, Triple Balance also assists with the selection of new employees. The quality of ambulance care largely depends on the expertise of professionals. Therefore, in the selection process, it is crucial to determine whether the employee is suitable for the role. "Essentially, you want a kind of predictive value," says Natasja. The assessment reports from Triple Balance are clear and concise, and provide sufficient guidance for making decisions. The points highlighted in the assessment can now also be incorporated into annual conversations and the 360-degree feedback. It's a beautiful cycle.

The end of the collaboration is not yet in sight. "You can tell that the people at Triple Balance prepare well; they are knowledgeable and follow through on agreements. Even during training, they connect with the group and turn sessions into dynamic gatherings through well-designed exercises. What's great is their openness to various aspects: whether you have a coaching issue, need team training, assistance with selection, or personal development, they have the expertise and tailor it to your needs."

"In the end," she concludes, "they're simply pleasant people to work with."
